Dallas, TX
dallas carrier desk.
Dallas-Fort Worth freight is I-20, I-35, I-45, Alliance, and inland intermodal. It is not the Houston Ship Channel. A Dallas cell is not the census telephone. Look up the USDOT or MC, match L&I, then ask which ramp or shipper this truck is actually covering.
desks for this cover
- FMCSA L&I
- Interstate authority and BMC-91/91X. DFW volume does not skip the filing. Confirm the morning of pickup.
- TxDMV / TxPROS
- Texas OS/OW is TxDMV, not TxDOT. Interstate authority does not include a Dallas oversize permit.
- Alliance and inland ramps
- Inland intermodal still needs highway authority plus interchange. A Houston dray MC is a different cover unless that docket is on the rate con.
first-touch in Dallas
- Do legal name, MC, and DOT on the rate con match L&I?
- Is this an inland DFW pickup, or did someone paste Houston terminal rules onto a Dallas load?
- If oversize, is a TxPROS/TxDMV permit in hand for these Texas miles?
- Does the census telephone reach the dispatcher who will send this truck?
- If unused 30 days or more, did you pull a new L&I snapshot?
stop and do not cover
inland crossroads, not a gulf plant
Dallas desks get threads that mix Houston plant rules with a DFW pickup. Stop. If this freight is Alliance, Wilmer, or a Mid-Cities warehouse, you are not booking Ship Channel TWIC. You are booking a motor carrier for I-20/I-35/I-45 miles. Match the MC to L&I. Then ask the trailer.
A “we ran Houston last week” story does not move the docket. If they want to cover Dallas with a friend’s truck in Irving, that is a new identity check or a different MC.
identity theft likes ordinary van freight
Dry van into DFW is where desks skip the check because the freight looks simple. Match legal name, MC, and DOT on the rate confirmation. Call the census telephone. Load-board comments are not FMCSA.
New-authority MCs cluster on cheap Dallas van lanes. Authority age is not a ban. It is extra identity work: census phone, W-9 match, and a cargo certificate that names this legal person.
permits and the next state line
Open-deck into the Metroplex still needs TxPROS when the piece will not ride legal. An Oklahoma ODOT screenshot does not cover Texas miles. A load that continues to Oklahoma or Arkansas needs interstate authority and the next state’s permit if it is still over legal.
Re-open L&I the morning of pickup. DFW short-notice covers are where stale PDFs get reused.
direct answers
- Is Dallas the same desk as Houston?
- No. Dallas is inland ramps and I-20/I-35/I-45. Houston is Ship Channel plants and I-10. Confirm the pickup city, then L&I on the MC that will cover it.
- Does Alliance interchange replace FMCSA authority?
- No. Interchange gets you the box. L&I is the motor carrier. You need both when the move is a container. You still need L&I when it is a dry van.
- Do new-authority MCs on cheap DFW van lanes skip identity work?
- No. Authority age is not a ban. It is extra identity work: census phone, W-9 match, and a cargo certificate that names this legal person. Do not start with a DFW yard photo.
